Slipping in a Shop

If you slip on something on the floor in a shop, then you could be able to claim compensation. It is always a good idea to speak to someone and find out because you could be entitled to quite a bit of money.
You will qualify for compensation, if you can prove that the accident was not your fault. If you slipped in a shop or office then you could claim that they were being negligent in not making sure that the place was safe for you. However, there would be conditions.
If there was a sign to say that the floor was wet, then you would be considered to have been warned and this would not be good grounds for a claim. If the store had frequent cleaning policies and also checked regularly whether there had been spillages, then you might not be able to claim. They cannot be expected to check every part of the office or shop for hazards, but if they have a system where they check regularly, that is considered to be acceptable by the judge then you are unlikely to be able to make a claim unless you can prove that they were not sticking to the system at the time of the accident.
It may not be a simple process and this is why it is a good idea to contact a solicitor such as those on nowinnofee.org.uk. They will be able to tell you whether they think it is worth going ahead with a case and also whether they are prepared to take it on. They should explain to you how much compensation you are likely to get and how much they will charge. This will allow you to decide whether you want to go ahead with the claim or not.
