Auto Insurance Tips 3 Critical Issues

posted on 3 March 2011

There are many different factors that matter if you want to be in a good position for the best in cheap auto insurance rates. However, some are head and shoulders above others in importance. Here are some of the most important ones... i. Your driving history is very important to any insurer. If you have a record that shows you are reckless nothing will save you from being classified as a bad risk. For example, if you have ever been convicted of a DUI you'll have a hard time getting a willing insurer let alone a low rate. ii. The vehicle you choose is also very important. There are vehicles that are considered very bad risks either because thieves love them or they are NOT the safest of vehicles or they are simply very expensive (Expensive vehicle are considered high risks because their cost of replacement is very high). iii. Your mileage is another critical factor. Don't joke with it. If there's anything you can do to keep it low, do so. You'll be doing a lot to keep your rates low. Low mileage is equal to low rates always.

Road Claims Jump 85% Due To Persistent Snowfall

posted on 10 December 2010

While the Transport Secretary took the blame for continuing mess and chaos in Scotland and also apologized for the inconvenience caused to the general public, the insurance companies are looking to the weather Gods and hoping for an abated snowfall. Reports suggest that insurance companies are seeing an unusually high number of accident claims from single-vehicle motorists and some of them have seen an 85% jump in the claims. The reason given is that persistent snowfall is causing motorists to skid-off the icy roads. Most drivers we spoke to are finding it difficult to drive on slipping icy roads, and in spite of taking weather guards and keeping a vigilant driving scenario, accidents seem to be taking place more frequently. Some motorists blame other drivers on the road for taking sudden actions that cause others to brake hard or lose grip over the icy roads across Scotland. Understandably, the weather is harsh and the forecast looks even more bleak. But, at the Fuel Card research team we hope that drivers will keep a watch over others on the roads to avoid any damage.

My shopping spree on ebay was canceled

posted on 4 December 2010

I recently had my hip replaced so I had been confined to online shopping. I just learned how to go around ebay last week and I finally decided I wanted to buy some stuff online using my Paypal account. I was preparing to pay for stuff on ebay when paypal error code 1010 showed up on the screen. It means that the seller is under probation. Paypal is investigating any unusual events by that user. Regardless of whether it's routine or not, it's advisable to stick with paypal and not pay through something else that you don't know. Some users that are flagged by ebay could be spammers. If you are forced to pay via other means specified on ebay, it's possible that that person is just trying to lure you to use your credit card. Never ever fall into that trap. It's not even advisable to pay using a different paypal email. Inform the seller that you would deal first with the payment terms before starting on the project. Because there was no other way, just cancel first then or should be able to use the ripe ones.

Buying the Perfect Fan to Cool off the Summer Heat

posted on 21 November 2010

I have been always addicted to fans. It is not because of the heat as I am living in the tropics but the way the fans move in a synchronize manner mesmerized me when I was a child and up until now, whenever I see fans, I stop and let the wind coming from the fan blows the day away. I collected fans it is weird, isn&rsquot it? However, we all have this perkiness and weirdness deep inside and I know that you can relate as well. There are different types of fans and consumer rights cooling off period is great for checking out fans. I have fans from Thailand, those with little elephants that seem to juggle around when the wind blows it away. I also have an antique fan circa 1800's, I ask my dad to repair it but use it occasionally as I don&rsquot want it to be ruined (and it cost me a few dollars.) one of my favorite fan comes from my aunt who works in Brunei. She bought me a fan that is embedded with gold. It is small but is very heavy because of the gold that outlines the whole fan. To date, I have already 400 kinds of fans and still am collecting more.

Problems with my tv and phone supplier

posted on 16 November 2010

I have been having an on going nightmare with my supplier of the tv and phone line. We have been with them for nearly two years now without any real problems but in the last month we have had a total of 3 days where we have had both phone and tv! I have heard every excuse under the sun now and been given about a hundred different reasons as to why the service has been down. I was told it was my fault, then i was told it was a problem in the street then i was told it was there head office. It has got to the point where i am in the process of trying to get my service with them cancelled and try and get some money back as we have paid for a months service and only received 3 days worth of service. I am looking for some sort of Consumer Rights Authority to make a full complaint to. I may even want to end my contract with them due to lack of service.

I unexpectedly Bumped Into An Old Schoolmate

posted on 1 October 2010

It has taken me about two years to complete all the subjects of my masters course and now all I have to worry about is passing the upcoming comprehensive examination. I never thought I would end up bumping someone from my high school years, not exactly a classmate but she was one of my school mates and as we chatted she immediately filled me in stating that she took Bachelor Of Since in Nursing during college as she was lucky enough to get one of the grants and scholarships for nursing students. She was one of the brightest students I knew back then and it was no surprise that she would land herself a scholarship grant that according to her paid not only for her tuition but also for all of her textbooks and she gets a monthly allowance too. Now she is going to the same school as I am taking up a Masters degree in Nursing. She said she started a year ago and she still has a year more to complete before completing all the courses.

When you shop online, there is a chance of getting cheated

posted on 12 September 2010

Rimy loved to shop. She would either go to the malls or shop online, depending on her convenience. There were times when she had a very hectic work week and over the weekend, she liked to stay at home. So at that time she would shop for things online. On one such weekend, she was shopping online. She found a very nice mp3 player which fit her budget. She ordered for it. After 1 week when she received the delivery she saw that the device was not working, the earphones were missing and the screen was scratched. She did not waste any time and decided to file a consumer complaint. She knew that according to the consumer law cooling off period lasts for about a week. She was certain about making the complaint and that's why she did not cancel her complaint. Since she did not get the product made according to her specifications, it wasn't perishable, it didn't fall under the category of reading material etc she knew she could ask for a refund.

Convert your downfall into an opportunity to rise

Jerry was a sales executive in a bank. He started working at a very early age. He enjoyed working as a sales executive but at the same time he was aware that without any professional qualification he could not get promoted. The managerial level jobs required college degree which he did not have. Off late he found it difficult to meet his sales targets and earn incentives. In the next quarter, the bank announced downsizing and he was one of the employees to get fired for poor performance. He was extremely dejected. Jerry tried to look for another job but couldn't manage to get one. His parents consoled him and asked him to use this opportunity and go back to school for further studies. He sat online and did a research on if he could receive unemployment benefits financial aid for further studies. He was happy to know that he was eligible for receiving both, benefits and aid. He didn't see the job loss as a negative thing now. Infact he felt that now after getting the degree he could apply for a higher designation.
